In Bucelas, at the edge of Freixial, the property occupies an agricultural slope — vineyards, orchards and a stone masonry building recorded before 1951, today in decay. The intervention rehabilitates that construction as an ancillary annexe and adds a new house to the north-west, in a longitudinal body with the private area to the east and the living area to the west. The two volumes are linked by outdoor platforms and paths; the annexe keeps its stone facing, in continuity with the existing boundary walls, and the new body, of modern construction, adopts the same durable materials — stone, tile and timber.
The living room, at the western end of the main volume, rises to a double height, using the southern exposure for solar gain and opening the house to the landscape of the slope.
