Quinta da Murta is a wine-growing estate within the second oldest demarcated region in Portugal — the Bucelas Wine Region, established in 1911. The unique characteristics of the soil and the microclimate allow the production of white wines of great quality, awarded nationally and internationally.

The study presented here seeks to build on the assets of a wine-growing estate through a single overall investment project, given form in the transformation of the existing buildings into a wine tourism development, bringing together in one tourist complex the new functions of hotel and vinotherapy spa, including the landscape enhancement of the uncultivated areas and the integration of ecological and sustainability principles within a place of tradition.
